On October 17th, Step into the late 19th century and test your wits against the dark secrets of Ocean Grove in The Serpent in the Grove: A Victorian Mystery Hunt! Gather around Rev Stokes to hear the his urgent decree and help protect Ocean Grove from the "worldly vanities" threatening to corrupt its strictly enforced paradise. Armed with your first clue and an official town map, your team will investigate local landmarks to uncover historical acts of rebellion, tracking down everything from illicit novels and smuggled "Demon Rum" in sardine cans to contraband tobacco, scandalous card games, and immodest ocean bathing. As you navigate the Grove, you will solve location puzzles to enforce town order, outsmart rival investigators, and keep the town out of the serpent's hands in this immersive Victorian mystery hunt. All incidents are based on true Ocean Grove Events that will inspire you too look at our peaceful town in a different light. Grab a group of friends and join us on October 17th for a step into the past.
Children under 12 are free if accompanied by an adult. Families are warmly welcomed and encouraged to attend together to learn more about Ocean Grove’s History.
