Join us for a book signing of “A Home Renovator’s Guide for Historic Ocean Grove with Memories of a Preservationist, the 1980s” with the author Jennifer Boyd! Illustrated with 114 contemporary color photographs by John Sosenko, the Guide presents eight Victorian architectural styles in Ocean Grove, nuts-and-bolts advice on good renovation techniques and requirements to preserve historic character, capped with an inside story of Ocean Grove residents’ pitched battle to protect its historic fabric against the onslaught of fire, neglect, and developers in the 1980s. This untold tale unfolds through a behind-the-scenes account by the author, a past president of the Ocean Grove Home Owner’s Association and preservationist of that era.
Time slots are not required, but used to aid our docents to monitor traffic in and out of the museum.
